What is “The Cloud?”

The cloud is nothing more than a collection of servers that are located in datacenters around the world, and set up so that small and medium businesses can share resources on them, such as storage space. In our case, we base all our services on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, to ensure the greatest level of compatibility and ease of use for our clients.

What devices can I use to access your cloud services?
Icon

Any device! This will work on Windows computers, Macs, Chromebooks, and Apple and Android tablets or phones. We can even set up Raspberry Pi’s to connect to our cloud PC’s! Using these services can truly turn your business into a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) environment, if you’d like.

Will I still be able to work if my internet goes down?
Icon

We have thought of this! The firewall that is included with our services comes with unlimited 4G LTE backup internet services. This ensures if your primary ISP goes down, even for just a few seconds, it will roll over to the backup we are providing, so you can continue working.

Is my data truly accessible from anywhere?
Icon

Out of the box, your data and our cloud services are available anywhere that you have an internet connection! We can even make cloud data available without an internet connection. As a security feature, we can restrict which data is accessible based on geo location. So if you wanted to restrict it only to the office and your home, we could. But most companies choose to leave this unrestricted, for ease of access.

If I put my data in the cloud, do I lose ownership of the data?
Icon

Absolutely not! The data is still yours. Microsoft or CITE does not take ownership of any of your data and we don’t even have permission to view your data, unless you give it to us. You can choose to migrate off the Microsoft cloud servers at any time and, to help make you feel safer, we back up your data off of Microsoft’s servers to a 3rd party, multiple times per day. Additionally, we can back up your data locally to a device in your office, so you can always maintain a local copy of your data, if you’d like.

What is a “Plug and Play” IT Department?
Icon

When you sign up for our services, you aren’t just getting cloud services. You are getting a fully-staffed and trained IT department. You can report issues with your cloud services, your computers, your mobile devices, or any other IT issues you might have. Once we receive the report, we’ll jump on it and fix it, as if we were a full-time dedicated IT department, just for your business.

Do I get unlimited support from CITE?
Icon

You will get mostly unlimited support from CITE. We provide unlimited onsite and remote support (we try to do as much as we can remotely and avoid going onsite, to keep costs down). But there are a couple of exceptions to this rule.

What is a vCIO?
Icon

A vCIO, or Virtual Chief Information Officer, is a CITE employee who will help serve as your organization’s Chief Information Officer. The vCIO will collaborate with and advise your business on strategic IT goals, planning your IT budget, analyzing and reworking business processes, and facilitating technology changes.
